He did also say that in a team setting, he will still wear what the rest of the team is wearing.

Seems like that it is!! Especially with that reference to Jordan's shoes and the fines... Agreed, though. Maybe with time I'll feel differently, but not really feeling this change at this point. Haven't actually met any male gymnasts/coaches who do at this moment, either. Is the plan just to take a deduction for now and hope to inspire a rule change? I love what some of these guys are doing to increase the popularity of their sport but I'm not sure I love this move.
I didn't hear that, but that's good to know! I thought he wore it during a team event this weekend, though? He did also say that in a team setting, he will still wear what the rest of the team is wearing.
No. This is individual only. I think he means if he is competing for Michigan or USA. This meet only has AA and individual eventsI didn't hear that, but that's good to know! I thought he wore it during a team event this weekend, though?
I agree. He does not have a great toe point, and the solid line really helps him. This accentuated that for him. Plus I was distracted by the bagginess of his uniform throughout. If it's coming from a place of insecurity about doing a 'girls sport' then this isn't helpful, that requires a cultural shift as other countries and other mens sports have fitted uniforms without any stigma.
The white leggings were more fitted that regular attire and with the ankle break before the socks it really just drew my eyes to the poor toe point at times.
