Ok, if I did this routine next competition, would this hypothetically get a 10.0 SV (as long as I meet angle requirements and my clear hip gets credited)

Kip, cast, clear hip, kip, cast, back hip circle, squat on, tap swing, flyaway
Yep, I think that should work!
Can I use the same thing for my internal comp today?

LSS had her first meet of her SENIOR season today. There were 11 girls in her age group.
She started on beam. Her acro wasn't ready, so she skipped it. She did fall once, but AFTER getting credit for her full turn. Her split jump was iffy, but she did get credit ... just took a deduction for insufficient split. She also took a step on her dismount. 9.5 SV. Score: 7.8. 8th place
Then she went to Vault (split gym with beam and vault in one room and bars and floor in the actual gymnastics center in the next room). Did her 1/2 On. Step on the landing. 9.7 SV. Score: 8.5. 6th place
After vault was bars. Her casts were low. No B skill. No squat on (did a climb onto low bar). She took a step on the landing. ORIGINAL SV: 7.9 ORIGINAL Score: 4.8.
All of our Platinums had super low scores and start values. After our LAST Platinum went and only got a 9.5 SV (Routine was kip, cast over horizontal, clear hip, kip, cast Squat on, jump to high bar, uprise, back hip circle, cast above horizontal, flyaway) and she only got a 7.5, HC submitted a blanket inquiry. Turns out, they were judged as Diamonds. We did NOT find this all out until AFTER floor was done. The judge had to re-evaluate our entire team's routines and scores. I didn't find out LSS's actual SV, but I expected it to be about 8.7. Her score ended up being 6.9. 10th place
She went with last year's routine since this year's isn't ready yet. Stung her ankle a little in warm-ups, but it felt better after a little dance pass practice. She remembered all of her skills in her routine (last year, she forgot her full turn in one meet and forgot her back tuck in another). She did take 3 steps after her back tuck. 10.0 SV. Score: 8.65. 4th place
All Around: 31.85 8th place ... only 1.15 from qualifying for YMCA Nationals. She knows what she can do to get some tenths back, and has another meet next weekend.

Good luck to her at her next meet!

Good Luck!
Congrats!

Good Luck!
Congrats!
Second meet, she and the other senior on our team both qualified!
There were 11 girls in the age group again.
8.850 Vault - still only doing her 1/2 On (5th Place)
7.200 Bars (8th Place)
8.000 Beam (7th Place)
9.000 Floor (2nd Place)
33.050 AA (7th Place)
Now, I can breathe for the rest of the season.
Good Luck everyone!

This is what I do and have always done. :)
With YG, her first year of Xcel Gold, she didn't do acro or a full turn on beam. That meant that she had a 9.0 SV. When she got an 8.1 on beam, I was super happy for her. She was only 10 years old (youngest Xcel on our team). I told her that 8.1 meant the judge only found 90¢ in deductions. It was the best she had ever done on beam. I reminded her that her previous best (old L4 - 2012-13 season) beam score was 8.0 with a 10.0 SV, so that time she lost $2.00 in deductions.
LSS is a senior, so it isn't as easy to get her to reframe things that way, but I still try.
We are also working on ways to minimize the built-in deductions. I honestly don't expect her to even attempt beam acro in a meet until at least January. We are trying to get her a roundoff so she doesn't have to worry about 2 skills AND connecting them.
On Bars, we are working on getting casts higher and possibly getting her squat on back or trying a straddle on. She also wants a clear hip and is slowly working on that.
On floor, she has everything, but can't put her front pike or back tuck to competition landing surface yet.
On vault, she has her 1/2 on - repulsion off. She is working on getting her 1/2-1/2 back.
She got her senior leo last night and LOVES it! I am hoping that will give her the boost in morale to accept lower scores for now. :)
In the UK here, seems like this level is about my level, my floor was 11.58 at the last comp, I feel like this wis really high? And also what level is this?

UK and many countries in Europe use a modification of the FIG code, where they have a D-score and an E-score, that's why they usually can start at 13/15 or something. While in the US they only use the open-ended D/E score for elite level in the non-elite levels they use a code that has 10 as a maximum and also their own code of points so skill values/vault values/deductions are different than FIG.
