MAG HELP!- competition underwear?

This is a little embarassing but my youngest son (level 8 gymnast) is 12 and he came up to me and asked me for advice on what he should wear as underwear under his competition uniform. I cam to think about it and I have NO idea what to tell him. What do you guys do? any and all help would be appreciated.

My DS's competition uniform is mostly white. I have him wear white briefs. Unfortunately I haven't found any that don't have the brand printed all around the waistband, so that gets folded under.

My ds prefers to wear boxer briefs. Form pants are grey, so he wears grey. What has he been wearing for all these years???
