Pixie had an exhibition that the L5-10 girls did this past Saturday. And having not been to the gym in a loOong time, I learned quite a bit from some of the parents.
One of the things I found out is that the girls that were competing L5 last season are skipping L6 without having to attain the mobility score. I'm just wondering how this is possible.
I was talking to one of the moms who's DD did L5 for two seasons. Had back tumbling fear issues last season and they thought she would have to spend a 3rd season in L5 but she overcame her fear one day and moved up with the rest of the L5's.
I told her how happy Pixie was for her, came home one day excited and told me that the girl got over her fears and got moved up to L7. The mom said well it's sort of L7. She explained that the teams in the area got together and decided to try Prep Op 7 this season.
Our gym does not have a L6 team. Usually doesn't except every blue moon.
I asked the mom if that means that the girls will have to compete one L6 meet and she said no. But, she couldn't tell me why. She didn't know. Since the conversation I've been really confused about it.
Is this because they are moving to prep op? If that is the case, what about when they move back to L7 or 8 next season? How will they justify mobility without having competed the L6 meet to score out?
Thanks in advance.
