I’m unsure, but I think I might have Achilles tendinitis. It’s been hurting off and on for a couple weeks, but these past few days my left Achilles has been hurting non stop. I’ve still been tumbling and doing everything at practice normally, but I’m still in pain even when walking. It’s worse when I wake up in the morning which I’m not sure why. I’ve tried stretching it, massaging it, icing, etc. Is this serious?

Yes. It’s serious. Look up Achilles tendonosis, which is what happens if Achilles tendonitis does not improve. Also look up Achilles ruptures.

I know we can’t post medical advice here, but I have a lot of regrets about the progression of my own Achilles tendonitis to tendonosis and I would not want a young athlete to deal with that. If it hasn’t become chronic, you have options for treatment, but those options become quite limited once it is chronic. Please seek the advice of a medical professional with expertise in treating Achilles!
