CheerVision

Howdy to all you gymnastics people. I am a competitive coach for a team that does the new acrobatics and tumbling. I have a long standing history of success as an athlete, coach, official, choreographer and speaker in the cheerleading industry.
Obviously the new alignment of Acrobatics and Tumbling under USA Gymnastics is bringing our sport under the gymnastics umbrella. So I thought I would hop over here to your message boards and learn more about your sport and vice versa.
I am going to post an explanation of all this in the appropriate area where people are talking about it. See my article there.
I support women's sports and am happy to see the development of another opportunity for women to compete in a legitimate sport.

Welcome to the CB!!! My dd was involved with all-star cheer from the ages of 6-9 and really enjoyed it. It got to be a little overwhelming for her towards the end with a lot of pressure to tumble. She wanted a break and wanted to try something new. She has been doing gymnastics and ballet for the past 2-3 years now and is having a blast. Who knows--she may want to get back into cheer as she gets older and her interests change (again), so it is great to have you on this board as a resource of info. I think it is great that cheer is taking this big step and "partnering" with USAG. I look forward to seeing what the future brings to the sport.
