This is for judges, coaches, anyone who might know.
What happens if a gymnast does something that looks more like the L3 vault than the L4 vault (as in, she doesn't kick up to handstand and kind of...rolls...)?
Will it still be scored as a L4 vault...or be void or something like that?
My 6 y.o. DD is having quite the time getting all the way up to handstand on that big old mat!:o

The deduction is up to 2.0 for: "Failure to show an inverted vertical position from hands to hips (performing a forward rolling action)" If a gymnast does the dive roll at L4, I take the full 2.0 and then take execution deductions on top of that. So, think of it as if the start value is an 8.0 for a vault like that. Then there are the additional deductions for bent arms, pike, etc.
