At my DD's meet last weekend there was a mom there tracking the meet scores with her iphone. She was using a iphone app and it looked really neat. Has anyone on here heard of or used this app? It looks like there is a new version that just came out. Is it worth having? Or is it a pain to use at meets? Also, I have the Ipod touch. It says it is compatible but if you don't have internet at meets can you still use the app?

My husband uses one and loves it, I'll get him to post which one he uses.

I have both MeetTracker and gymstat. Overall I prefer gymstat for entering scores as I go and general tracking, it is a bit easier to use and more intuitive. But MeetTracker has some great tracking features that I really like (graphing out the season results is the big one) so I end up adding everything to that after the meet.

Neither of them require an active connection so they will work just fine on the Touch.

If I was just getting one I think I would get gymstat personally.

I just looked up the app on my Iphone. It's called Gymanstics Meet Tracker. Here's some info on it.

ALlows the entry of USAG gymnastics meet scores, organized by meet, Team and Gymast for both girls and boys at any level on you iphone, ipod touch or Ipad.

Enter a meet name, add your team of gymnasts and enter each score as the meet progresses and instantly know each gymnasts all around score or an entire team score for the meet.

During the awards ceremony, enter the award place for each event and all around or age group they receive.

View the results of the meet and email them with a single click in two formats - single gymnast or the listing of the entire team.

The team meet score is automatically calculated showing the initials of the gymnast who's score counted with totals for each event and an overall meet score.

Graphically view the results for a single meet or an entire season.

Instead of spending several dollars per meet for a paper program normally left in the bleachers, now you can track your child's performance throughtout the gymnastics season and instantly know every score they have had all year long. You can also see their progree graphically by each event or all around score.

Email their up to the minute meet results to those that can't attend during the meet with a single click or to your family afterwards showing how well they've done.

What bettwer way to record the meets scores and have something fun to do while the meet drage on.

Sorry so long but that's what it say.

I have that App on my Iphone. It is really cool. Plus, it keeps me from having to buy the program from every single meet :D

It is not hard to use at all. I personally think it is worth having.

Also I will have to check those two out.

I wonder if the Gymnastics Meet Tracker app will work for Prep Optional? My dd will be competing in that program in the spring...

The app looks really neat though!

I have it on my Ipod Touch. It is pretty cool & you don't need internet. Now I just need it for my Android phone.

Either one would work, though neither has the prep op levels listed in them. But that is a tracking piece and not required for the app to work. Just put all the same level girls in one level and you can even get the team scores for them.

I have both Meet Tracker and Gymstat. I personally like the GymStat better. I find it easier to use (don't like the rolling dial to enter scores on meet tracker, or the set up to get into each meet/then girl/then event to enter scores on meet tracker) and I LOVE that GymStat will allow me to keep multiple season on the app and it will track her averages from each season. GymStat also has a "note" feature so that you can make notations about the meet (how many girls were in your dds age group, whether the venue was great/or not, whether the gymmie had any falls to explain a low score, judging was generous or extremely stingy, etc).

I don't see a Prep Opt level, so you would just have to designate a number to use as Prep Opt and just remember what that means to you (PO bronze, silver, etc).

I have tried both too. I like Gymstats. With 20+ girls in lvl 5, the spot to save a pic is great. I don't normally track all the girls but the pics help me sort out the right name to cheer for. My phone crashed over the summer and I lost all the stats :(. GymStats lets you email the results and that helps if you have phone scenarios like I do. It also has a stats button which is helpful to show your daughter her progress over the season. It lists all the meet results on one page. Worth the .99.

The developer was very good about responding to my questions too when I had problems figuring out how to recover my lost info.

It is $3.99 now. A little pricey for an app but cheaper than a score book? It works with iphone and the itouch.

Anyone use something like this for an ipad???

Thanks!

Blue

The ipad version is very nice because it is easier to input. One of my friends from another gym has one and I am jealous when we run into her at meets. You can find it thru the same link.

I've used Meet Tracker and loved it last year, but will have to check out Gymstat! I'd like to be able to track from year to year!
