I teach the highest level rec class right now which is working on level 3,4, & 5 skills. We don't have anything more than vaulting mats in the rec gym. A few of them really need to be working on front hand springs. What can I do to get them ready for that with just mats?

Also, where can i find a list of fun conditioning skills for this class?

If you have enough safety mats and fold-ups.........Make a stack of mats at the height of the vault table and have the kids do a handspring vault onto the mat stack and landing on their backs. If the stack is too squishy you can put a thin mat under the top safety mat.

punch front layouts off a springboard.

i generally start this with 3/4 layouts to back off a board and sort of a stretch jump into forward roll on a mat stack roughly shoulder to head height.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
