I heard they were closing. I know of at least one of their elites that has already relocated.

Last I heard they were no longer owned by Powers.

According to the owner, Amanda, Powers never owned BCG, only "managed" them. Then Powers and Amanda went their own ways (she left NC and moved west to work for Powers while they managed BCG) and Powers no longer managed the gym. And now the DP and elite teams have been eliminated.

No clue what is true or not just that some of the coaches signed routine form Powers contracts, which would have made e believe they owned the gym - given that they had a 2-year non-compete for ANY area with a Powers gym (this was before non-competes were made "illegal).

Whatever the real deal was, we'll never know. What we do know is that the gym got into legal trouble and resultant financial trouble, Powers came in, Amanda ( one half of the OG owner couple) all but disappeared, all of the original coaches were fired or quit over the next 12-18 months or so. Then we heard rumors that Powers was "done" with Amanda and vice versa, she started showing up more, and now we have no team.

The truth is somewhere in there....but the point of the story is that Powers is bad. Avoid. And the second point is that is would appear that they no longer are affiliated with BCG, so if your DD doesn't want to do DP, hopefully safe to stay..
