We left our previous gym for a variety of reasons. However, after we left so did many others (for May of the same reasons we did.) I have heard though that grape vine that safesport “investigated” because the gym lost so many athletes. Legitimately it was a lot, nearly all of 2 different levels either quit or went to other gyms. My question is that if safesport truly “investigated” why would they not reach out to those of us who left? Wouldn’t they have a better understanding of the situation if they talked to those who found cause to leave? As I understand it they only spoke to those who stayed. Most of those kids were in entry levels of team without a lot of gym experience.

I could be wrong, but I don’t think Safe Sport would investigate a gym just because a large amount of girls left. A complaint would have to have been filed.

Safe Sport would have no way of knowing movements of individual gymnasts.

That story is not plausible.

In order for Safe sport to investigate, complaints would have had to have been filed with them (and local authorities). Safe sport can only investigate given the information they are given, so it is highly unlikely they would reach out to people who left the gym if they were not the ones to file a complaint, or their information was not provided during the complaint. If you experienced something in the gym in which you felt was inappropriate, you need to immediately file a complaint with Safe sport and the local authorities. This is for the better of your child and the sport as a whole.
