She did it twice today !!!! Ok she finally went over for a giant to day twice!!!

Very exciting so Coach is letting her try bars at the next meet which is .........

FRIDAY!!!! Yup the Pink Invitational in PA is finally here and of cours so are the snow storms. supposed to be rain tomorrow when we fly out of NH but snow in PA hoping it will hold off until after we arrive there and she has her session. We got an e-mail today that says if the storm is bad they may cancel her session!!!! UGH she will be so disapointed if that happens!! She has been looking forward to this since NOVEMBER!!

Crossing fingers and toes she does well and qualifies for sectionals at the meet it's her last chance so extra crossing that her session doesn't get cancelled.

Way to go! I'm sure the thrill and accomplishment she is feeling from getting this skill will only help her at the meet on Friday. Hoping that all goes well and the weather cooperates.

Yeah, we are at 8:00 am on Friday at Pink. We are driving tomorrow (about 2 hours normally), but are waiting to about 7:00 pm to make sure it's still on! What session are you in?

I really hope she gets to compete! That would be a great if she can make it to sectionals!

We are the 5pm session on Friday but right now who knows what is going to happen. The airlines just cancelled our flight and put us on a flight for Friday we should arrive about 1pm in Philly I"m told its about a 45 min drive out to the hotel near the venue of the meet. so that means it will be about 3pm by the time we land get our luggage and rental car and drive to the hotel. WE will have to eat something on the run and then off to the meet for 5pm. I think I'll need to make sure her hair is up and in a bun before we leave her. If they cancel the friday flight Then we won't make the meet its a good 7 - 8 hour drive from here.

And DD will be so bummed. The hotel said there isn't even any snow yet and the news is saying now that it will be a snow rain mix. Talk about jumping the gun on the flight cancellations. I hate when they cancell because it might snow at least wait for the first flake to fall.

Well I hope so too DD will be so disapointed. We had planned to also do the tourist think in Philly she loves history and wants to see independance Hall etc for her self.

They rebooked us on Friday and if they cancel that there is no need to come down for the rest of the trip. I'll have to save that money and do another type of Mom and me trip in April vacation for her. She is so wanting to do a trip just her and I.

SOOOO disapointed!!!! Well our first flight canceled, second flight canceled third flight canceled and no way of getting there in time for her meet on Friday. Philly airport was closed for 3 days because of the snow there. Our last attempt to get out of NH we had hurricaine winds the night before and there were tree, wires etc down everywhere. Looked like last years ice storm. We've been out of power since Wed night. With a well no water no heat and now at in-laws keeping warm. You know its cold if I'm willing to stay at the In-Laws for any length of time. Don' get me wrong They aren't too bad but any length of time they start to wear on my nervse.

so Now I have an unhappy daughter tear at the airport begging me to please still go even if she can't make her session but there is no way we can make it befor Sunday and that is the day we were coming back. Her comment through the sobbing- all that hard work for nothing and now I can't qualify for sectionals. I think that hurt her more. Her coach (I called) said they would check when they get back to see if there is a meet somewhere they can get her and one other that didn't make it down to the meet so they can qualify. I hope they can she will really be devistated if she never gets a chance to qualify now that she has her giant. I hope it doesn't take the winds out of her sails.

I'm so sorry, I can only imagine how disappointed your dd must be. I'm sure there has to be a meet somewhere that she can get into and get that sectional score. She's worked so hard and deserves that opportunity.

So sorry you couldn't make it down.

We got up at 5:30 am, session got cancelled (my DD was in tears too), but got moved to a 7:30 pm session, so it was a long day. I'm sure they'll send the leo to you or hopefully your coach can pick them up if she is still there.

I really hope they are able to get her in another meet. I'm sure she'd love to show off her hard work.

Well coach got in today and brought her leo with her she loved the leo but was still sad she couldn't go. Still don't know if they are going to find a meet for her to even try to qualify. She is still upset about all the hard work she did and she can't even try to qualify.

I'm hoping they will do an in house sanctioned meet so she can qualify. They have done this in the past for the "top" girls when they messed up. It's just our gym competing if they do it. Heck I'd pay for the judges myself to give her the chance.

LOL no magic words and her giants don't always happen at this point but she really wanted to have it for that meet so that had a lot to do with it. we also did a 1 hour privated every Friday before regular practice every week for Jan and Feb to work just on that skill. I think too for her at least she needed the "deadline" of the meet to give her the drive. For some that can just add stress but for her it adds organization of when things need to get done. Of course there are bribes involved too now I'm on the hook for an american girl doll store visit to one of their events this spring and if she qualifies for sectionals and states a doll will be coming her way.

Well just heard back from the gym the meet I was hoping they could squeeze her into is just too short a notice to do that one but I'm supposed to speak to the head coach today at pick up to see what they can arrange. At this point I'd do just about anything for DD to have that chance even if she doesn't qualify. The hard part is my son has his Eagle Board of Review tonight and you guessed it right at the same time as the Gym lets out - Guess Hubby is just going to have to come home earlier and take him instead of me and I'll have to go to the gym - he'll just mess it up at the gym if he goes. He never gets messages or plans straight.
