Good luck todya--I really hope they can work something out!!

Cross fingers

Ok coach said tonight that they are trying to get her into a meet for this sunday only 30 min away. They won't know until tomorrow night if they will let her in. But coach says too that if she doesn't do all the routines on Fri and Sat they won't let her compete. On Monday she was so down she just didn't want to do anything at practice and had the "why bother" attitude. Tonight she was better. So cross fingers and toes that she can get in she perks up and there is no more snow or power outages (we've been with out power until last night from the storms from last Thursday)

still waiting to hear from the gym hosting the meet this sunday as to if they will let my DD join the meet. UGH!! its so frustraiting to just wait.

This must be driving you all crazy!! Just need an answer at this point--yes or no. Must be hard for dd to be mentally prepared.

I know from working as a meet coordinator, adding 1 girl usually isn't a big deal unless that session was already full. Even then you can usually squeeze 1 kid in. Wonder if this gym is being hit with other last minute requests so girls can qualify and they're in panic mode.

GL if she ends up competing tomorrow.

Well its the good news bad news thing.

Good News was she can be added into the meet amd they were more than happy to do that for her......

Bad News they couldn't do the meet in the end because they couldn't get the judges they needed to do the meet.

I'm told it was a meet that was supposed to happen when we had the state wide power outages last week from the big storms here in New England. So they had to postpone the meet to this weekend but someone forgot to call the judges and confirm that they could come so they were scrambling at the last min trying to get enough judges and they couldn't :(.

So I guess it just wasn't meant to be. She was feeling better this week where the gym was trying all week to make it happen it made her feel like she was though to be an important part of the team. She will be the only one at her level that isn't going which stinks and she doesn't just want to go and watch.

So I guess she has to wait until next year. Hopefully she can do a meet and then advance to the next level with a qualifying score if she has all her L 8 skills. At this point the coach feels very confident over the summer she will have the L8 skills she needs and they will work hard on bars for those skills over the summer. She can do (not pretty though) L8 routines on the other events at this point its just bars now that is holding her back. So lets hope next year she isn't shut out again.

I'm hoping they will do something inhouse so she can qualify at this point. it has to be done this week so its the 2 weeks prior to the sectionals. I think they have a rule that states it has to be 2 weeks before. Don't think it will happen but maybe a long shot can be done.

That stinks! But it's great that level 8 is still an option for next year. Level 8 bars isn't too different from level 7, and I'm guessing if she's been working so hard on giants her casts have gotten really good! All of her hard work will certainly pay off one way or another.

Well I'm not holding my breath for L8 for her next year. She still has to make the moves look good or they won't let her even try for that Level. Its ok if she does 7 again - it will make her a strong 7 and that will definitly boost her confidence level.

I'm hoping at this point she doesn't get too discouraged and not put so much effort into her gymnastics. I think though we will not do any more privates since there are no meets left for her until Nov 2010. She has until then to work in the class and get what she need done. The hardest part is if they let her do the bars at prior meets she would have qualified as she only needed a 6.15 on the bars to qualify at her last meet. Her other scores were higher and even a bar without the giant would have given her more than that. It's hard for her knowing that if they just let her try at earlier meets she could have qualified. and at 12 going on 13 May 1 its hard to have her understand.
