My daughter is working on full turns on beam. According to what she told me, her foot barely moves when turning. When she uses chalk, it doesn't help too much and makes her feet hurt from the friction. The chalk also melts off after doing only a couple of turns. Does anyone have suggestions? She has her first meet next month so is rushing to get this skill.

My daughter has this problem! She uses Carpe hand and foot deo every day on the way to practice - and then bathes in chalk. It’s made it a bit easier, unless beam is the very last event, in which case she’s going to fly off. She had an issue for months where she couldn’t turn all the way because her feet would get stuck, or she’d over turn with force.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
