Old level 6 and new 5 have always had smaller numbers. No worries, it's hard! Freehips, BWO or BHS on beam, back tuck on floor, and the............. DREADED FLYAWAY. I am sure your state meet will have plenty of competition. :)

At states last year, there were 10 L5's.

There just aren't a lot of 5s...I'm in Texas and our gym just got the notice that ALL the level 5s in TX will move on to state...

Wow, that does seem very small! It will be interesting to see what it's going to be like here this season. We had plenty of L5's in our state last year.... Just at our sectionals (one of four) we had about 60 L5's.

I don't have any concrete numbers but know that at L5 states last year there was only one day of competition (as opposed to old L5 the previous year that was over three days.) In previous years we had a compulsory fall/optional spring schedule, but they changed L5 to the optional schedule. They have sectionals and states for L5, 6 & 7 all hosted by the same gym over the same weekends. I guess they are anticipating/manipulating equal numbers in all three levels.

Wow that's weird...most gyms in my state are skipping 6 and going from 5 straight to 7
