To set the stage, I currently use a variety of sources for tracking scores when at the meets with my daughter and I do enjoy it. The data is likely meaningless to many but I like keep track of it and am looking to make this easier for me.

My dilemma is, depending on the meet I am use a mobile app or a website to keep up. Many gyms do not have WiFi or decent service so connected is a problem for me and I don't want to rely on this. TumbleTally works nice for keeping up when I have no service, but the app is no longer updated and does not support adding new levels like Xcel Sapphire.

During the "off" season I plan on creating an app to unify all I like about tracking but making it flexible. For example, you create a governing body like USAG and add a discipline of WAG and a program of Xcel. As part of the discipline you would define the apparatuses that are used (Bear, Bars, Vault, Floor). You could then add levels to the programs such as Bronze and Gold. I could then support everything from add teams and the disciplines/programs they support (Some team is a USAG WAG) or gymnast and the discipline. Adding teams to meets if needed as well. The flexibility comes in where if you want to add a custom governing body like we have here in PA for PIAA, which has a discipline called WPIAL and levels are based on grade levels. I want it to support however the gymnast may need to use it or how it is scored.

I can likely link teams and gymnasts to the MSO and MMS and import the data based on settings and provide a means to import/merge them as well.

I have developed mobile apps and would likely support Android and iOS since I have experience there if there is a want of something like this for others. Before pursuing this further I figured I would make my first post to this forum seeing if there is even a usefulness to have something like this. Seems to not be many good options around right now so I figured the need was small.

What are you opinions on this matter? Moderators, please remove if this is considered against the community guidelines.

I guess I need to understand this correctly... are you just looking to merge all of the websites into one? Or are you looking for meet hosts to directly upload results to your app?

I use MyUSAGym, meetscoresonline. And now ScoreCat. I prefer myusagym but they have a bandwidth problem, so it often freezes on the weekends.

How would your app differ from these services?

ScoreCat is the new one... seems to be great so far.

Meet organizers are messing up the inputs in ScoreCat at almost every boys meet. Also, a lot of the features that were free with myusagym are subscription only with scorecat. I wish USAG would charge us all an extra $10 to fix myusagym and then make it mandatory for all sanctioned meets. It sucks yo have to look in tons of different places.

No, I am not trying to compete with a place to upload. I would like a robust app that merges it and allows you to manage the things outside of USAG.

My son's last meet was on it and everything looks great. I've checked quite a few men's meets and they all look fine on it?

Sorry, I should have said almost every meet my so has attended. Recently, I’ve seen scorecat glitch out mid meet and the organizers never got around to posting the results of some of the sessions. One meet they recorded all zeros for the 2nd place kid in my son’s session and posted incorrect final placements with him missing. Once they switched it to a girl’s meet and started posting beam scores for boys. That time they had to create another meet in the system to turn it back into a boy’s meet and it was a big mess.

Interesting... we run 15 meets a year and haven't had any real issues yet. Just sounds like people don't know what they are doing.

I think the main part would be supporting multiple governing bodies and the ability to track your own scores without an internet connection such as TumbleTally does. The main benefit for me is that numerous meets do not use the scoring apps so the app is useless for me for those.
