To set the stage, I currently use a variety of sources for tracking scores when at the meets with my daughter and I do enjoy it. The data is likely meaningless to many but I like keep track of it and am looking to make this easier for me.
My dilemma is, depending on the meet I am use a mobile app or a website to keep up. Many gyms do not have WiFi or decent service so connected is a problem for me and I don't want to rely on this. TumbleTally works nice for keeping up when I have no service, but the app is no longer updated and does not support adding new levels like Xcel Sapphire.
During the "off" season I plan on creating an app to unify all I like about tracking but making it flexible. For example, you create a governing body like USAG and add a discipline of WAG and a program of Xcel. As part of the discipline you would define the apparatuses that are used (Bear, Bars, Vault, Floor). You could then add levels to the programs such as Bronze and Gold. I could then support everything from add teams and the disciplines/programs they support (Some team is a USAG WAG) or gymnast and the discipline. Adding teams to meets if needed as well. The flexibility comes in where if you want to add a custom governing body like we have here in PA for PIAA, which has a discipline called WPIAL and levels are based on grade levels. I want it to support however the gymnast may need to use it or how it is scored.
I can likely link teams and gymnasts to the MSO and MMS and import the data based on settings and provide a means to import/merge them as well.
I have developed mobile apps and would likely support Android and iOS since I have experience there if there is a want of something like this for others. Before pursuing this further I figured I would make my first post to this forum seeing if there is even a usefulness to have something like this. Seems to not be many good options around right now so I figured the need was small.
