I was raped at age 14 by a gymnastics coach in the 1970’s.
I filed a case with Safesport in 2017. I had written letters and filed police reports prior.
I had a 1 1/2 year investigation with Safesport. Found out a few years later although my perpetrator is in their revoked or suspended list they never concluded their case. He was teaching at a College.
U had to hire an attorney as no one would return my calls at Safesport or USAG. We settled with a dollar amount to be distributed over 5 years. After one year USAG says they are out of funds. $385 million dollars given to them for victims. They say they are using money for training. To me that says glorified weekend s. Their education is not working. There is zero accountability in the gyms today.
USAG or Safesport will not talk to me or return my calls.
I’ve been in the sport for 50 years and am ignored and denied any results.
This organization hasn’t changed. Only change is they are paying themselves and ignoring their members.
