Was wondering what duties outside of actually taking the classes that other coaches get paid for. Do you get paid to open/set and close/pack up the gym? Do you get paid to clean the gym, if so what exactly does that involve like vacuuming or wiping mats? Are your work meetings paid? Do you get paid for things like completing training courses or making lesson plans? What about choreographing routines? If you are required to have things like a first aid certificate, will your gym pay for it?

Also curious what you guys have paid for out of your own pocket. Prizes for kids? Ever bought any equipment yourself?

Obviously know this will depend on the country, type of worker you are like full or part time, and coaching position (like head coach vs team coach vs red coach). But I’m keen to hear everyone’s experiences and how they differ!🙂

We get paid for set up and planning periods, and everyone has an end of shift cleaning task. If you want more hours, you can usually do more of those things. We also get paid for all parent communication, skill tracking, etc. Staff meetings and trainings are paid. Choreographers get paid a flat fee for the routine plus the private lesson rate to teach it.

I have bought prizes but have always been reimbursed for equipment - jump ropes in my case.
