I took a couple of classes at this gym near my house, but I know that if I want to compete I have to go somewhere else.My mom and I looked at two different ones in the past two days. The first one they were pretty rude to us several times, but they were a lot more organized. At the second one we really didnt talk to anyone[it was a open gym] and it seemed more of a fun gym than anything. Also,at the second one the staff didnt seem like they were good.People would do stupid stuff on the equipment or someone would stand right in my way when I was getting ready to do the vault and they wouldnt do anything. Both of the gyms are owned by former olympic medalists. They both have competitive team.

So which gym do you think I should go to?

I definitely would NOT judge a gym based on an open gym. I know my DD's has open gym, and it's so chaotic! Shouldn't be, but it is. Even though it's supposed to be supervised, you've got little kids running every which way, and I personally think it's downright dangerous! I would call the gym, ask them when team practice is (any idea what level you would be? That might help), and then just go observe an organized practice. I think that would really give you a more objective view of what really goes on!

Good luck!

At the second gym I would be able to do a free trial lesson before I sign up.I think im going to do that before I decide.
