Men's Artistic Gymnastics
It does make sense and I agree that it's great he is staying connected to the sport. Hope he continues to inspire many future gymnasts.

I am also really glad he's moving into coaching and eventually gym ownership!

It really is the end of an era with him, Orozco, and Leyva all having announced their retirements. All three were named to the two previous Olympic teams. Of the team that competed in Rio, is it only Naddour who will be competing at nationals this year? Though I am very glad that Whittenburg and Modi (2016 alternates) are still at it! I would put money on Whittenburg getting a world/Olympic gold medal on rings some day. It would be awfully nice if he could do it in Montreal. ;)

I hear Mikulak is competing as well, but not sure how many/what events.

Oh, right! He did pommels at the qualifier. I assume that's all that it would make sense for him to do at nationals -- no reason to push his recovery. But kicking a few of those up-and-comers' butts would make a statement . . .
