Hello everyone!!!
First forum post yeyyyy!!!!
Well I really need help with my side aerial. I have recorded myself in slow motion and it seems as though I keep putting my hands down and end up in a handstand. My gymnastics coach and acro coach have both told me I get enough height. I would...
I currently can't compete this in usag (i don't think, correct me if i'm wrong you can't compete D skills in L8) but if you've seen previous posts i'm in aga and it's bonus (.1 added to my SV).
I am possibly competing in next weekend to see how it fits in my routine and to see if it will work...
I keep getting calls to do private lessons with dancers who have a side aerial choreographed into their solos, yet can't do it yet. I always feel a ton of pressure with these privates. So, what are your favourite side aerial drills? I usually teach them to my gymnasts slowly, over time. However...
Hi everybody !
I'm a self taught gymnast and i recently got my front walkover, dive front walkover and standing side aerial. With that said, i think that the natural continuation is to learn a front aerial but as it is a pretty dangerous skill, idk if i'm ready to do it.
My front and dive front...
Hi !
First of all sorry for my english i'm french so..:/
I would like to have some tips on how to improve the form of a side aerial. I'm explaining : i'm training my side aerial for months now ( i'm self taught and don't go to any gym ) . The real matter is that when i'm doing it, it doesn't...
Hey guys!
Side aerials have always been my dream skill. I can do a solid cartwheel and have been working on perfecting it with straight legs, pointed toes, straight arms, and a big straddle for a while now. My next step has been wanting to do a side aerial.
However, when attempting a dive...
What do they rely on? More technique or leg strength/explosiveness?
I always thought you need a crazy amount of quad power for those aerial skills. But on team we have incredibly strong little girls, they do standing back pikes with ease, but have such a hard time getting their aerials. I made...
I don't know if I have come to the right here, but I decided to try!
I know nobody can predict the future, nobody knows what a person can do and it depends on many factors. But as you all have some sort of gymnastics background, I will be happy with any subjective opinion or tip!
I did...
I did an aerial tonight and my aerials are the worst but I've been trying to clean them up and make them better. But anyway I did an aerial and landed ,knees bent and ankles a little askew, and it hurt my shins a little. So how do I stretch my shins out to prevent a horrible future injury and...
Gymnasts, Coaches, Parents, Acrobats.... whoever knows about this.
What do you think is the easiest Aerial Skill? Side Aerial, Front Aerial or Back Handspring step out Layout step out?
What is the easiest of the 3 to put on beam?
And why do you think this or that is easier/harder than the...
Coach wants me to compete an aerial full dismount off beam in level 8 or 9.
What is the skill worth (A, B?), and does anyone have a video? I can't find one, and I'm a kid who needs to see it before they do it.
Thanks for the help!
Hello, coaches!
I have a question about the feet placement during a side aerial (D) + back layout step-out (C) connection on beam. More specifically, if you have a lefty gymnast which foot should be in front at the end of the side aerial/take-off for the layout step-out, and which foot should...
Side aerial is a .2 bonus on floor, and I have a kid who can do it during her floor routine about 70% of the time. However, sometimes she puts her hands down, or hits the side of her hand on the floor right at the end. Would this count as a fall? Or just no bonus?
A friend whose daughter is a dancer has just posted a video on Facebook of her DD landing her first Aerial. I know she has one hour per week gymnastics at her dance school but from what she said I thought this was just stuff like front/back walk overs. I'm no coach but I can immediately see...
I had done an aerial several times, but I had taken 1-2 steps before it. Then, I attempted a standing aerial, and I landed short and my foot slipped. This happened yesterday or sometime around then, and it is still bugging me and I can't do an aerial because I get nervous I would do that same...
