To all the coaches here:
Is coaching your only job/source of income, or do you have another job to support yourself and/or your family?
I'm currently living in Texas, used to coach team at a small gym but quit last year because the owner/head coach was very disrespectful and we just did not...
Is there anyone out there with advice on coaching autistic children? I've just had one join one of my classes. He is 7 years old. Started school in a special needs unit but has now moved into main stream classes.
He attended his first class last Saturday. It didn't go that well as he...
I'm worried that two of my girls might be getting spoiled.
They're both first-year competitors, and have now been to five meets. Both have taken first all-around at all five of these meets.
And this, surprisingly, really concerns me.
I see gymnastics as a way of preparing kids by teaching...
I know there's another thread, but I can't reply in the parents' forum, so. I'll bite.
I'm confused by the answer in the other thread that the coaching board won't be for technical issues. I don't understand what it's for then.
As much as I like the idea of a private board to discuss...
So, I'm back coaching and helping out coach L4 boy's. I've reviewed and kept current with the routines going over the DVD a few weeks ago and going over the notes more.
Any of those L4 coaches wishing to comment on coaching these routines. Things to look for, etc.
There really isn't anything...
Hello all, this topic came up in another forum about fencing that I am a member of, and I was wondering what gymnastics coaches would say as opposed to fencing coaches. I still coach gymnastics, but I have started competing in fencing instead of gymnastics, and the enviroments are very very...
Has any of the coaches here ever worked coaching a bipolar child? The child I am speaking of is a very talented gymnast who could potentially go very far in the sport. She picks up skills quickly and seems to enjoy being in the gym. Currently, she is a level 5 but could compete level 6 or 7...

I am VERY excited. It's only about 3.5 hours a week - but, hey - I have a FT jog already so I don't need to kill myself working a 2nd job.
Hi - I am interested in coaching and I am looking for advice on the best way to go about getting involved.
I absolutely love the sport of gymnastics. I have been thinking about talking the the HC/Owner of DD's gym about getting involved in coaching for a while now. I had planned on waiting...
