just ordered my new compulsory music and noticed that there were 3 choices for level 3, 4, and 5.
Looking forward to the trumpet selection:)
Has anyone heard them?
Maybe some coaches can answer this question for me. I have heard or read this several times either from a parent or a coach referring to a gymnast, they say (referring to a compulsory gymnast) she is not a compulsory type gymnast but more of an optionals gymnast. I don't quite understand that...
The new floor music for the 2013 compulsories hasn't come out yet, has it? I was bored, and I found this:
Compulsory Floor Music 2013
It's an actual competitive gym, and it looks pretty legit, but I thought the music hadn't come out yet :confused::confused:.
PLEASE TELL ME THIS ISN'T...
Our gym recently started a compulsory boys competitive team. I was simply looking for advice from any one and everyone on the best way to begin and successfully run a beginning boys team for the best results in any and every aspect. I know my way around the sport and the bells and whistles of...
USA Gymnastics has devoted a new page to the 2013-2020 Compulsory Program:

The chart featured on page 3 of this PDF also confirms that competing at the new level 6 is not required:

Hey,
I've tried searching around and maybe I'm just blind. But I'm having trouble finding the link to the page with the 2013 compulsory skills??
Any help would be great! Thanks!!
I was an ex-gymnast and my coach called me to be a prep-op coach?! I never was in pre-op I was coached privately can you tell me what the pre-op coach does? Thanks
I did a google search, searched on here, looked on the usag site...can't find it - I'm sure it's out there, I just can't see it.
WHEN WILL THE USA GYMNASTICS WOMENS JO COMPULSORY ROUTINES FOR 2013 BE RELEASED FOR PURCHASE? And, IS THERE A FINAL DRAFT OF MAJOR ELEMENTS FOR THESE ROUTINES POSTED...
Haven't posted in awhile, curious if you guys can help me out. My daughter wants a copy of what she calls "the book"....the book that all the coaches pull out and study to see if she is doing the routines exactly the way they should be done.
She also wanted me to find out if there is a series...
I will preface my post by saying that my DD is very little and about to join level 4 team, so I have very little experience in the gymnastics world.
I was looking at the States meet results and found that for DD's gym... the teams at the compulsory levels 4 - 6 did pretty well, placing either...
I have heard a lot about the girls changing, but didn't hear anything about the boys changing, so I thought that they weren't. But now I hear they may be as well.
So, are the boys changing too? Where do you get info about this? I know the stock answer will be "Trust your coach" which I do, but...
Talk has started at the gym already about sending the head coach, a second coach, and gym owner (who also coaches) to Congress next year (2013?) in order to learn the new compulsory routines. It has been insinuated that the booster club should pay for this. Our boosters are struggling as it is...
I am wondering what the rules are on dropping back a level. I had heard that if you hadn't competed all around at a level, you could drop back to the prior level though I had never seen it done.
When I was looking a the State results for level 5 though, I noticed a girl who's name I recognized...
Okay - so I'm learning loads about the US system, but can you tell me - on the compulsory levels I know that you have set moves that you have to include in the floor routine. Are the routines laid down exactly or are they like ours, a list of moves that must be in the routine but open to...
Hi,
Ok, I may be trying to plan to far ahead. My dd will be competing level 6 in Iowa this fall and I've been trying to find meet schedules. I know that her coaches will decide what meets they go to and I know what meets our gym usually goes to. I'd like to go ahead and list the usual meets on...
I just finished coaching our L4 girls season. Of the ten girls, only 2 are repeating L4. There are about 3 that SHOULD repeat - but, due to parents telling gym owner "either they move up, or they quit"....they are now moving to L5. Gym owner has told them to plan on being in L5 at least 2 years...
So what does everyone think?

I think it will be interesting to see from 2012 to 2013. Boy will there be some interesting conversations with CGMs when this occurs...
I know this is only Level 3 but I need wording in the text clarification on floor and the entire Level 3 floor routine seems to be missing from our Compulsory Code of Points book.
Can someone please quote text and how it's written for the roundoff through the three running steps backwards. I...
