Ok, I recently got my floor routine and i LOVE it but its really energetic and there is really no time to catch a breath i am fine up until my last tumble row where i cease to have any energy left any tips for fitness so that i can get through a floor routine?
Heyo! I have some questions about level 7 and 8 floor routines..I have 2 friends..one going into 7 and one into 8..my gym starts creating floor routines very earlier into the season..and they don't know what elements are required...as in the dance elements, tumbling passes and leaps and all that...
This summer, i know i will have at least 6 floor routines that i have to create for our girls. I'm fairly new at this... i made 2 last year and i help with the dance like if the routines needs some fillers or things, but i think this year i may have some trouble. Where would i get inspiration...
This is a general question. Do most gyms create each gymnast new and individual floor routines? We have a gym in the area that will pass down routines from one gymnast to another including same music. Few of us were having a debate on this.
The gym we are at hires a special choregrapher to do...
in a L7 floor routine, does a full fulfill the same requirement as the layout? i know they have the same value but im asking if a girl can do a full and skip the layout. at our meet, one of the coaches told the girls to a full as the first pass and a tuck for the last. i always thought that a...
does it matter how much split the leap has in level 3? because our girls are little and we cant seem to get them to split very much and at meets most other gyms are just about or they are 180 split, but it doesnt seem to affect their score.
if they do need to be 180 or a little below, are there...
I had a couple of questions relating to the level 3 floor routine. First, what should a gymnast do if she does not complete the roll portion of the handstand forward roll? (handstand back to lunge instead of roll) What is the deduction if the skill is repeated (correctly) vs skipping the roll...
Kathy got a 8.35 on floor this past weekend at her first level 5 meet. Not high enough to place, but high enough to make her mama proud! :) She scratched on bars, and I know she was dissapointed, but I could hear her cheering for her teammates louder than anyone, which made her mama even...
Olivia's floor routine is done, minus the tumbling and leaps. So I guess you can say it's her Level 7 dance that's done! I posted the first attempt to my vimeo videos, just click on the link in my sig. She's working with her choreographer/coach in the video. I can't wait for it to be 100%...
Alex slipped and rolled her ankle during her first Level 5 floor routine doing the hitch kick toward the end of the routine. She then was behind the music and left out the next element. She scored a 7.1 on the routine but I am curious what the total amount of deductions may have been for those 2...
I am from Canada, so I am just curious about splits being included in the floor routines for L4, L5, and L6. Our club is going to the US for a meet next year and lots of our girls that will be compulsory levels, don't have splits all the way down, some aren't even close.
What about those girls...
When my daughter was promoted to level 7 back in February, she inherited one of her old teammates floor routines. I like the music but not the routine. We paid a very small price to the former gymnasts to teach my daughter her floor routine. It meets all the requirements but I feel it is lacking...
hey guys, my gym asked me and another coach to choreograph routines for 5 different "levels" we have at our gym. it is for national gymnastics day, but we have to have it choreographed by mid july. the theme is "olympic showcase", so i guess patriotic songs would sound best...any other songs...
My beautiful little girl has been in the gym at least once a week since she was about three months old and she is starting to copy what the 'big girls' are doing at training.:) It is the cutest thing I have ever seen! (I may be biased however ;)) Check out my youtube account in my sig to watch...
At a recent meet, several gymnasts from the hosting club eliminated the back handspring from the final move, a round-off back handspring combination. How much of a deduction did this cost the girls?
What is the deduction if the gymnast when doing the splits in L4-6 floor routines, touches her hand down on the ground when it shouldn't be? For example, my daughter's most recent meet, she said she touched so she wouldn't fall over. Is that a fall? Just wondering because floor is her hardest...
My daughter's team has a local, non-sanctioned meet this weekend and I have a quick question regarding the Level 3 floor routine. (I'd ask our coach, but she's been away a few weeks for a variety of reasons).
At our last meet, I have seen a skill done one of three different ways:
1. lay on...
