I'm going to be getting my first pair of grips, and I have some questions.
1.Is there any way of getting around sandpapering the finger holes? I'm really weird, and can't stand the feel of sandpaper. Whenever anyone pulls it out I run the other way. :p
2.About how long did it take for the grips...
DD is new to using grips. Bars is her favorite event. She does not seem crazy about the grips. Do they tend to mess kids up skillwise while they get used to them?
Help!!!! DS has states tomorrow and tonight after practice he was complaining that the holes in his grips were too tight. My husband tried to make the holes larger, but rather than using sandpaper he used his knife! I am sure you can all imagine where this is going....he ripped the spacer...
A girl at my gym is doing giants, free hips, kip cast hands and flyways all without grips on. but she is not a tiny girl, she is 14 already and probably about 120lbs!
she said she got her grips at L5, but had a hard time relearning the skills so she always refused using them.
is this common...
We are getting conflicting advice from the coaches re: DD and getting her using grips. Initially, HC told the team that all the girls with the exception of my DD and two others were to get grips. No explanation as to why, but I surmised from the three that were singled out that is was because...
I have read through the other grips threads, but wanted to see if anyone had suggestions for 2 different questions.
1. Last night at the meet, D's grip just quit going aroudn the bar. It wasn't grip locked (thank goodness,) but he says it won't hold chalk anymore so it won't "glide" like it...
Dd got her new grips today. Us glove 000 she has such tiny hands. Is this size correct? From what I can see here, it supposed to look like this. Right? Correct me if I'm wrong. Still learning.
DS had an incident of grip lock a few weeks ago. Luckily he was fine although a bit freaked out. His wrist (the one that had surgery 2 years ago) was a bit tender for a week, but now he's pain free.
So I bought him new grips, measure out his hands and he is dead in the middle of size 1. I...
These are DD brand new grips. Bulldog, kipper, size 0. They are still way too big, right? She says they feel better than the others that she has tried. Any suggestions on some that fit even smaller??
I have read through, but wanted opinions. We are in the process of switching D to buckle grips. He ahs been in Reisport velcro all along. The new coach likes English Bulldogs. Thoughts on these?
Also, sizing. He is in 1s right now, but wears them lower on his wrist than his coach would...
What brand do you recommend for pre-dowel grips? I just stretched out one of my palm guards at practice the other day, so now I need new grips and it was time to move up to the next notch in grips anyway. I know Bailie's and Ten.o both sell pre-dowel grips but I'd like to know what you all...
My 11 year old is currently a L7 but may move to L8 mid-season. The reason for "maybe" moving up is bars! She is scoring great on all other events and has her skills for 8 solid.
Here's the issue. She doesn't use grips. She is TINY. Much smaller than the average 11 year old. (She's 4'4"...
Just got a new pair of grips since my old ones were stretched out, but I'm afraid I ordered the wrong size! I haven't yet worn them on the bar since I may need to take them back. Picture:
This question is for my daughter. She's 10 years old and her grips are bothering her. She has VERY very tiny wrists - as in, so tiny her 4 year old sisters wrists are bigger than hers. It's ridiculous. So she currently has US.Glove 10.0 grips or something like that. She sais the wrist part...
I wear dowel grips. I use Ginnasta USA and used to love them. I got them in June/July and they were great. About a week later they were soft and flimsy. Dangerous. My friend quit and gave me hers-pretty much completely new-worn one practice. I have been dealing with it, but HC wants us to...
Does anyone know what company sells the biggest sized grips? I am talking ladies dowel Velcro grips. I ordered some Ginnasta size 4s and they are too small. DD previously had US glove size 3, but they were worn out and had gotten too small, and are now lost. She starts competition this coming...
