DD just got home from practice and is so excited she got her kip tonight. She is 7y.o. level 3 training for level 4. Hopefully it sticks around :) I drop and go so I wont see it until next season, I love to be surprised by all the new skills she can do.
Hi fellow chalk bucket parents and coaches I am new here and finally got up the nerve to post. I have a DD In a stars program that has all her level 4 skills but her kip. Is it your experience the gyms move them up to level 4 without it? Our gym does not have any other competing levels before...
My dd is an XCEl silver this year. Her coach does not uptrain much. She insist that they perfect one skill before they can uptrain for other skills. Hence, she will not let them train kips yet and will not let them get grips until they get and perfect their kips. Well, yesterday, they were...
Is there any benefit to competing a glide kip in Level 3 instead of a pullover? My DD just moved up to Level 3, has her kip, and her coach mentioned she could compete it if she can get her straight arms consistent.
Her kip finally came back....after 4 months of getting all the way up, then bailing back.....
I asked DD to just focus on throwing her belly and shoulders over the bar.....forget everything else! just get the belly over....
3 times, and she was right back up and said, OHHHHH yeah, I forgot the...
I can do a pull-over, long hang-pullover, back and front hip circle and have a very decent cast (I learned it within 6 months). My coach said I could train with Level 4 (even 5 if I learn my back tuck in the next month!) because I am very strong and talented for a Level 3 - if I had my kip. I...
Yesterday was THAT day. Three of my little 8 year old gymnasts got their kips within 15 minutes. They were the first ones to get it. Almost all the girls (there's 12 total) are close too.
I was so freaking happy! This is the first group I have taught the kip from the very beginning and it feels...
I am so frustrated for my daughter...small 9yo.....she is SOOOOO Frustrated!! She has the most beautiful, straight arm hollow body kip.....except she gets almost all the way up. I really don't understand, it looks as if she just jumps back down on purpose.(it is not on purpose!)
She literally...
I just bought a used kip bar off of craig's list that I gave my kids ( level 5 boy and level 2 girl) but it is pretty riticky...does anyone have any thoughts on how to stabilize it?
My kip is spot on- until I have to rotate my wrists, so I never finish it. I always rotate them too early or too late. Ade there any drills I can do at home to practice timing of wrist rotation or even just practice rotating?
So my daughter is a competing level 3 but is working on kip training when there is a break between meets and tries to do a few before practices as time permits. She's got a good glide for her level 3 routine, but when it comes to trying to glide then kip, her form goes out the window. She...
Can someone please help me with my kip? I always pull before my feet can touch the bar. Basically, I never let my feet touch the bar before coming to front support. I know that might sound confusing, but can anyone give me tips or drills for a glide kip?
DD had the kip that came and went most of the summer but has had it consistently since late Sept. but her arms are always bent. What causes this? Is it too little power in her kip or is this something that will come with time and experience since she is still a relatively new at this skill.
Somebody please help me with my kip! I have my front hip with straight legs/arms and my shoot-through, but on my kip, I never let my toes touch the bar and I pike too early. How do I fix this?
My 7 year old has been sooooo close to getting his kip for months now. Yet he cannot get it. I hear this is a common problem, but he is frustrated. The coaches say he is almost there, but he just needs to flip his hands and get on top of the bar. What is it about the kip?? I think it's like a...
