Parents Level 6 and 7 question

ok so I'm just wanting to educate myself here and knew for sure this is the place to ask! So, in level 6 you can basically do all level 7 skills in.. my question is.. Is level 6 judged the same as level 7? So if you went to a level 6 meet and got a 9.5 on floor and then went to a level 7 meet...

WAG Feedback for DD's Lvl 6 Vault?

Hi Chalk Bucket friends! I was hoping experienced parents, gymnasts, coaches, judges would take a look at my DDs lvl 6 vault. This was at their practice meet with no scores given. All they did was tell you who came in 1st place (which she did not). I understand you can't really see the...

Level 6 age categories in Ontario

Looking for policy insight on age groups for Level 6s this year. OCP Rules book lists 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15+. But we've heard that GO is combining 9 and 10 because of low numbers. I've seen at least one qualifier that has run them separately. Wondering if anyone knows if they're together...

    WAG L6 Tumbling Question

Would these passes fulfill the requirements for L6 tumbling: Front handspring-front layout-front bounder Running punch front tuck Dd has beautiful front tumbling, but is dealing with vestibular issues on back tumbling, and while she's working through them in practice to prepare for L7, we'd...

WAG Differences between L6 and L7 Beam

Can someone tell me the added requirements for beam when going from L6 to L7? I know a connection and flight, but are there also needed more A or B skills? or could someone compete a minimal L6 routine with just adding the connection and flight, and no extra skills? Thanks!

    WAG Level 6 floor

Hello again everyone!!! So my dd have a lv6 fx routine that is choreograph by the head coach, it is very simple. Her music is 1.00 min long. She can't dance really. I am worried her routine is just too plain compared to the rest of the LV 6s. She's also young. She does a little dance and then...

Parents Level 4 and 5 being pushed to make level 6

Our gym is relatively new and has not had many girls progress thew the jo program. Most of the girls last year competed silver last year and a few moved on to level 4. At there first level 4 meet most of them scored I. The 32-33 range and were quickly moved to level 5 where most of them...

Parents is it common for level 6 gymnasts to create own beam routine?

hi - new to this community. i found it while researching beam ideas for my level 6 gymnast. at her gym they create their own beam routines and while she knows which skills she wants to do and has some filler, she's not really sure how to put it all together and she needs some hand movements...

    WAG Level 6

I know theres many threads about whether gyms compete level 5 or 6, ours does 5 now but we are considering doing 6 instead next year. If your gym competes level 6, do the girls each get their own floor routine, or do all the level 6s do the same routine? I've seen both at meets and am...

WAG Are there different start values in L6?

I realize that this is probably a really naive question, so bear with me. I've noticed that in L6 kids are doing different skills in their routines. Essentially some are doing more difficult skills than others. For example, on beam some do a BWOBWO and others do a BWOBHS. On floor, some do a...

WAG Coach/judge question re: L6 bars

I have a question about the cast handstand for a Level 6. Which would score better - a new, less-than-stellar straddle handstand that makes it about 20 degrees above horizontal, or a very pretty, very tight & straight cast that only makes it about 10 degrees above horizontal? For a coach -...

    WAG Level 6 bars question

What are the cast requirements for level 6 bars? Low bar cast is low, but if she casts almost to HS on the high bar does that fulfill the requirements? Thanks!

WAG Question about level 6 form deductions

Hi, all, I hope I have posted this in the right place and that this works. I have a LV 6 girl and I am curious about form deductions on two of her events. My first question is on beam. Her routine is pretty simple: mount, lay on beam, bwo, dance, full turn, split leap, wolf jump, dance...

    WAG L6 bars

Quick question for all of you who have been here, what scores better in your opinion, or experience. A clean routine with good form, which makes it above horizontal on all casts, and free hip, but does not get up to handstand. Or A routine with not good form, a bit sloppy, but that can get...

WAG Still confused about L6 bars (CHS)

I've been told that cast to horizontal is the requirement. I've been told, though, that if they don't go to handstand, it's a 9.50 starting value. I've also been told that without the handstand, they lose amplitude deductions. So can someone tell me - does this mean, for someone who hits "just...

    Parents Level 6 tumbling options

My daughter will be a second year level 6. Her back tumbling pass is strong, it's a RBH BT or layout with no issues. Her front tumbling is not near as strong. Last year she did FHS walkout FHS. She was getting deductions for her entry (too high). She still has not mastered the FHS FT and...
