Hi there - my daughter is a new L9 and I'm working to understand some of the requirements . . . particularly on bars.
Its my understanding that
Shootover, not from handstand, not to handstand = B
Shootover, from handstand, not to handstand = C
Shootover to handstand = D
Currently my...
For all the experienced moms out there, what can you tell me about your daughter's level 9 experience? I've heard how it's a whole new ballgame and I have a general understanding about the requirements and bonuses. I have confidence in our coaches and am not worried about any of that. I fully...
So I am training for level 9 and I have always struggled with back handspring series. Now it seems like most level 9 gymnasts seem to be competing bhs-bhs or bhs-back lay. I have seen in the rules that a "restricted d element" is allowed. Does that mean I can compete something like a front...
Do you all speculate after being out of the gym 6 weeks or more (that seems to be the minimum we will be out) it will be hard for a lot of the older (meaning high school age) L9/10's to come back? I already hear from so many they are loving the break. It has to be really hard to come back to...
Series: Front toss/ back tuck
full turn
switch leap split jump
a dance series (not sure what it is)
some other leap series
Cartwheel Gainer dismount.
I am mostly curious is she needs another separate acro element - I don't think they are planning on adding one.
Can some one in the know help me with a level 9 bars question?
My daughter and her bestie were just told that they need two release moves in level 9, one from high to low and one from low to high. They assumed a squat on job to high bar was all they needed instead of a low to high release type...
My dd is training level 9. Wondering if what’s she’s working towards will give her high enough starting values. She’s not 100 percent certain what her routines will be but this is what she’s working on.
Bars- kip on low bar, squat on jump to high bar, Kip cast handstand, pirouette, overshoot...
I was wondering if my level 9 does a front handspring connected to a Front full on floor, does she get the A-C connection?
Or do we need to add a front tuck to the end for the C-A connection?
Thanks!
Does anyone know the maximum points if you do a level 8 bars routine and add a toe hecht would be worth in level 9 (so no high to low bar transition)? Thanks.
Hello,
My DD is a level 9 gymnast. She was injured last season so only competed 1 level 9 regular season (non-state/regional) meet and scored very well with two tumbling passes. This season she is competing lev 9 and the coach has added another tumbling pass because she said with the new...
Does anyone know if it’s a deduction to have 3 of the same skill (back handspring step out) in a level 9 beam routine? The example would be 2 in the series flic-lay-flic, and 1 in the dismount, flic-flic snap full. Sorry to post this in the general forum, it looks like they’re still working hard...
I'd appreciate any positive stories or thoughts about repeating 9.. Does repeating 9 (for a gymnast who was strong in prior levels and had a rough L9 due to injury and coaching issues. Just turned 13yo.) indicate a gymnast won't or probably won't still have the potential to eventually train...
Is there a path to college gymnastics for gymnasts who become even specialists at level 9? I think I read that you can qualify to Regionals as an event specialist but not to Easterns or Westerns or Nationals. How do you get a collegiate caches attention of you can't advance beyond Regionals?
Hey! I have another USAG level 9 question about connection bonus (this time for bars)
If one of my gymnasts competed a free hip handstand into a double back dismount, does she get the connection bonus, or not because the second skill is her dismount?
Hey everyone
Our gym is having a debate on bonus points on floor for level 9.
An A+C skill is worth .1 bonus. Does round off backhand spring back 1.5 twist count for this bonus?
