My DD has her L3 pretty down. My question is on her pullover technique. She is small, so when she begins her swing and return to stand, her arms are way over her head....She does her pullover, pull up to chin way over the bar, quick pause and then lifts her body up and over through front...
We have a little gymnast who just cannot master this skill, it's causing her to get upset and frustrated now. She can do a chin pull over standing on a block but when it comes from a hang she just cannot do it. We are working on chin ups and leg lifts etc, does anyone have any good ideas or...
I am debating how much time to spend teaching kips when they receive the same start value with a pullover. At this level, it will be difficult to find kids that can do a perfect kip with nice straight arms, extended glide and straight legs. On the other hand, do you think that the judges will...
We have a little gymnast in our squad who seems to master everything we give her really easily apart from a circle up on the bar, I think you guys call it a pullover in the USA? We have been working on chin ups with her, she can pull up to a chin up shape and get her feet to the bar, she then...
So my 5 year old DD is doing Easter camp at the gym, 3 hours a day all week. It's the first time she's spent more than an hour at a time at the gym :)
When she got home today she told me she did her first pullover by herself :) but she was most excited that they got to do vault ;)
I only put...
I am have a gymnasts who is of heavier set and we have been working hard to get her long hang pullovers . does anyone have tips or drills to help me out?
Hi! I can do my back hip circle and other things on my bar routine, and I can sometimes do pullovers, but i feel like I kick over more rather than the whole chin up thing. I'm rather tall (5'4) but can't hold a chin up very well. Is there any conditioning I can do to help with my pullover? :)
I'm a 15 year old gymnast, (I know, older, right?) and I can't get my pullover! :( I've been doing chin ups all week, sit ups, and push ups, and I go back to the gym on Monday, so what are some more exercises or ideas I can do to get it! (If I et it, I can move up monday!!) Please help?! :(
So, I was a level 6 going to 7. Competitive, and progressing. Then stupid me quit gymnastics for dance, which was the worst decision of my life. Anyway, I lost all my bars, and most of my beam and vault. Floor is okay but lost some. Now I'm back, and I'm taking like a little refresher's kinda...
I know for some it might be nothing serious but for my 4 year old its a big progress :) for a while she could do pullover when the bar was at her chest level but not higher. This morning at her practice she did consistently lots of them where the bar was up to her neck. I am so proud of her she...
My coaches are teaching us pullover mounts and back hip circles on bars, i can do them when they give me a small push. When they don't i cant do the mount. My mom, a former gymnast tells me to lean my head back and kick up my legs. But i cant get my chin up to the bar.
Hi everyone!
I coach a group of CR2 gymnasts (For those who aren't coming from Quebec, I'd say it's about between level 3 and 4 in the us depending of the apparatus). So they did really well this year in competitions so the objective for me is to have them competing cr3 next year, and for that...
Little DD (4) got her pullover, she's so excited! She is also now able to do a cartwheel on the beam which I thought was incredible, and so did her coach, but if you ask DD she was more impressed with her pullover. Thanks for letting me share, no one else in the family understands what a...
Ok my first level 5 meet is in a week and i cant do a pullover by myself without my feet touching the floor. I have tried conditioning, drills, spotters you name it. I have strong enough arms I just cant get my legs over the bar! I'm really scared that I'll make my team lose if I can't do a...
She's been working on it for a couple months and has been SOOO close for weeks. I think it took her by surprise when she got it the first time, but after that she could do it over and over :).
Hi, I have states in 2 weeks and I don't have my pullover by myself yet, only with a spot. I would like to know the deductions on a routine with a pullover with a spot vs. a routine with just jumping to front support?
Yesterday I had a trial comp and a girl called Hannah was supposed to spot me...
My daughter can do her pullover when she kicks up with one leg, but is about 50% with it when she takes off from two feet. What's the deduction for stepping into it?
I'm posting in regard to my daughter. I'm posting for my daughter. She's 4 and gymnastics obsessed. (It's all I hear about. She also wants to be a "ballet and gymnastics teacher" when she grows up)
She got a practice bar recently (belated birthday gift) and has been working on her pull over at...
