I am a gymnast that has naturally soft hands. Sadly, too soft, so they rip all the time. I've had over 20 rips while my teammates mostly have had 5-10. Any tips or products you can recommend would be very much appreciated. Thank you! :)
I am a gymnast who sadly has naturally soft hands. Too soft, so they always rip and won't toughen up. I've had over 20 rips while my teammates haven't passed 5/10. I really would love some advice on how to keep my hands from ripping/ how to care for them. Thanks!!
I never knew Mr. Pancott, but he was a huge influence on DS's coach and many, many other coaches and athletes. Too often, the people who just work quietly away and do great things remain fairly obscure, while news focuses on bad people.
I'm grateful to him for the many years he devoted to the...
Hey gymnasts and gymnastic mums I need some first aid tips for my darling daughters ripped hands. I have no clue what to do but realise that they need toughening up. Do I dress them or leave them to dry out? She is in pain and won't train on them. How can I tape them? Is there a you tube? Omg...
I have searched for this in the forum and have come across a lot of great posts, but none of them speaks directly to what I need, so here goes:
DD's hands are TORE UP from swinging bars! I mean chewed to pieces tore up. She looks like she has lumberjack hands. Her coach says 'awesome' 'amazing'...
Region 5 (and Ohio specifically) lost a great judge yesterday when the "head judge" in our area and Ohio NAWGJ Ethics Administrator passed away.
My thoughts are with her family, friends, and colleagues at this time.
Ok..I am full of questions today.
On Thursday, D got a rip..on his wrist. It is on the palm side, just past where his hand meets his wrist. It is about an inch long. It is not responding to normal hand rip treatment, and he tends to need it wrapped or it just hurts. Of course, wearing grips...
I rip every practice unless I wear my palm guards, why is this? I've built up nice calluses from 2 years of gymnastics yet I still rip doing just a warm up of back hip circles! Is it maybe just because I'm 5'5", a lot taller than most gymnasts? It's not that it's an issue to wear Palm guards or...
Tonight my daughter went to practice with a large blistery bubble on her palm. I haven't gone to pick her up yet but this thing has got to have popped. She has had a few minor surface only "rips" but not a deep painful one. This child is a drama queen when it comes to pain (although somewhat...
Hello coaches.
We just reupholstered a beam. With suede material. 2 weeks later, there is a 3/4" cut/ rip on the side, just below the top. How should we fix it so it doesn't keep ripping? Should we use ductape or cut a patch of suede and glue it on? Or just spray with some glue?
Thanks coaches!
Does my dd need new grips? She keeps on getting a rip on the top of her finger where the grip hole is. I've asked her to talk to her coaches about this but she keeps on "forgetting". ;)
My daughter, Ava, age 7 recently started competing (November) and everyone else started in May learning their routines. Ava wasn't able to catch on to bar routine as fast as the others due to her late start. She competed in all the other events though a few weeks ago and did pretty well for her...
Hi all - happy Australia Day :D
My DDs team have been working towards kipping and those hands are suffering! I've read up on old posts on treatment protocols (thanks all) but there are lots of recommendations for products not available here (or possibly called something else!) So needing some...
So Dd has her score out meet for level 5 tomorrow and came home with a huge rip from practice tonight :( She said she had a horrible practice because of it and her confidence is shaken. Anything she can do tonight to help it not be so sore tomorrow? Also what is the best way to cover it so it...
I have a rip that's quite large on my hand. problem is as soon as it fixes it is re ripping. Done this about 3 times. It's the only rip I have on my hands. And yes I wear grips. Any suggestions?
Strange question, what type of tape is best to use on rips?
DDs been using KT tape over the top of normal plasters when she rips, which really helps and let's her continue training. But she's going through KT tape like there's no tomorrow and it's hurting my bank account :(
Are there any other...
Hi!
I have a quick question, and I'm hoping someone here might have some advice. DD, 10, has been in her US Glove double buckle grips for about six months. Just recently, she's noticed that she has a few small abrasions on her middle fingers of one hand. She suspects it's from her grips. I've...
