DD got a rip about the size of a chickpea. It is red and open. THe skin "flap" is torn off completly. How do I heal this for her? This is the biggest one she as ever gotten.
My dd was working on kips yesterday at open gym. She got a rip on one hand and then 2 bubble/blister things on the other hand as well as another one on the hand with the rip. Should we do anything with the bubbles such as pop them or just let them be?
Good news is that she did about 10 kips...
My daughter is having a really hard time with her rips and rope burn. We recently moved to a new gym where they aren't allowed to use their feet to go up the rope, the other gym did rope maybe once a week.
She was hysterical last week with the pain from the rope burn, other than the obvious...
she was soo not happy about it tho
she also has her first ankle injury too (another girl stepped in her )
so she has to tape it and take it easy rhis week and next
Hey everyone. I have states in 5 days, and have 3 rips on my hands! Who has good ways to heal them fast!? I've tried a few things, but nothing seems to be working! I'm desperate!! Thanks.
Ok so, I was at gym the on Friday and I had tape on my wrists because they were starting to hurt, so later that day I took off the tape and I looked down at my wrist and there were HUGE rips on them. They hurt really, really, really bad!!! I never had this happen to me before. I don't know what...
So, in a spur of creativity in relation to a friend of mine, I was inspired to write this. It has everything to do with gymnastics, but at the same time, nothing at all.
Here's my deep philosophical though of the year.
The hands of a gymnast can be compared to life.
They hit obstacles, get...

DD has a meet tomarrow and ripped really bad today. It is about the size of a nickel on her palm. I have been reading past articles looking for information on rips and several of them mention taping a rip for a meet. So how do I do this and what do I need? Please help asap.
I know this question gets asked a lot but I don't have time to search through all the old posts so I'll ask it again. What is the best way to treat rips from bars? Is it best to keep them covered? When, at night or during the day? My dd is 7, and is in school all day so I don't think keeping...
Just looking for some suggestions...
My dd's team recently ordered grips. I opted not to get in on it - didn't order grips for her. BUT
dd is regularly getting bar burn on her wrists and occasionally even getting rips on her wrists (below her hands)...I know it's completely normal for hands to...

It was my first day doing bars, and i was trying to do pullovers, and at the end of practice, i looked down and there it was!

How long do your rips take to heal?
Last time i ripped it took weeks to heal properly and i couldn't do bars properly for ages. I had like 1 small rip on each hand but every time i went back on bars they re-ripped - even after having like 4 days off. I ripped again last wednesday, 3 rips that...
DD got her first rip yesterday. She was proud and scared at the same time. It is about the size of a dime on her left hand. I can see the beginning of about two more on her right hand. What can I do to help her. She did about an 1.5 hours of bars on Sat and about 30 more minutes on Sunday. No...
Well I'm a 25 year old male who did gymnastics growing up as well as club gymnastics @ OSU. Its been about 5 years since I've been in a gym and I want to start getting back in shape. I'm trying to find some good workouts 4 the gym and some routines to practice. All ideas are welcome. Thanks :)
Does anyone else use surgical spirit on rips, and also to prevent rips?
I'd never heard of anyone using it before until my new coach came here and i ripped and she put surgical spirit on my hands as it cleans it and then hardens the skin. It's horribly, horribly, hooorribly painful but seems to...
