My coach wants me to begin tumbling out of roundoffs (which I have never done) instead of roundoff back handspring.
I had some problems with chin throwing and not setting for the BT which are two issues I've never had when tumbling out of ROBHS- I think I'm throwing the back tuck like a back...
My daughter is having a heck of a time getting this skill. She just started gymnastics one year ago and she is competing at a Level 3. She has been working so hard to get her ROBH and is often landing on her head :( she's definitely strong enough -- that's not the issue at all. I wish that I...
Hi! I'm not in gymnastics, I'm in cheerleading but I still wanted an answer from gymnasts or gymnastics coaches since I trust those more. So my elbow are hyperextended elbows and it's really bad. I've been working on my roundoff back handspring for two years and my coach has been telling me that...
Hi, I am a 29 year old female gymnast training recreational gymnastics three times per week (about nine hours). I have never done gymnastics as a kid and started adult classes three years ago. I have been learning standing back handspring for two years but I am still not able to do it. My shape...
So I compete xcel gold and my first meet is coming up on the 10th-12th. I have 3 more practices until then.
I have a really nice ro-bhs (good form, high re-bound). Do you think it's realistic to get a round off back handspring back tuck before my meet, and be able to compete it? I'm very...
So I have had my standing back handspring for a while now and it's pretty good but I can't seem to connect my round off or anything to it. I have a good round off with a high rebound too, but whenever I try to go for my robhs, I always have to pause for 1+ seconds after my round off to go into...
I have my standing back handspring, but I desperately need help with my roundoff back handspring, because I need it to move to Level 4. I only need a slight spot, but I can't seem to connect it.

You might remember that I posted a few months ago about a girl I'm doing private lessons with. She is a cheerleader and wants to get her roundoff backhandspring. We fixed her roundoff which was crooked, we got her jumping and now she does a beautiful roundoff backhandspring...when I spot her...
Whenever do a round off I feel a pain in my hamstring on my leading leg. The pain often persists after my workout and I sometimes develop bruises around my hamstring later. Has anyone else experienced similar problems? Or is it possible that there is something wrong with how I'm doing the...
I coach a group of 12-15 year old gymnasts who are starting to compete optional level.
They are late starters training low hours and most of them have bad habits, fears or injuries which forces us to make up routines that consists of more uncommon (and less comprehensive) tumbling passes etc...
I have been working with a girl to get her roundoff backhandspring for cheerleading. Sometimes they are quite good, often they aren't. Here is an example of a bad roundoff. Again, sometimes they are good but they are very inconsistent. Obviously, she is crooked right from her hurdle and she...
Any suggestions for correcting an arched round off? My DD competed the old level 3 last year and never had a great round off- slightly crooked hurdle, low chest landing. Currently hurdle is not perfect but much better, chest is a lot better, but now as soon as she puts her hands down and her...
My problem is whenever i try to do a roundoff backhandspring I do a roundoff, take two jumps and do a backhandspring for some reason I can't only take one jump. Anyone have any tips?? And when i'm on the tumbletrack i can never do a straight roundoff. Any tips for that?
Can you do say a BWO/BHS series and then a RO/BT dismount in a level 6 or 7 beam routine? Then for the jumps a split leap split/ jump combo or is that too many "b" elements? All in the same routine. Just wondering not saying that is the plan or anything DD was just asking.
I have a one girl (level 5 last year, moving up to level 6 5 this year) who consistently comes in too high on the entry to her front handsprings and roundoffs; she has too much air time between the feet coming off the floor and the hands touching down (ie "diving").
Any drills or other...
Floor is definitely our weakest event. I've been working really hard to try to get my girls to snap down out of their round offs and to stretch their back handsprings out, but they just don't get it. Help!!?
I'm stuck on this one.
I've got an athlete who has a fantastic standing backhandspring, and a workable roundoff, and a good snapdown.
She is absolutely. terrified. to do a snapdown backhandspring or a roundoff backhandspring. Her exact words are "I feel like I am going to die". She had a...
Everytime one of my gymnasts does her round off back handspring her shoulders close on her back handspring, either landing on her face or her elbows. Her round off is nice and she can complete the skill but I cannot figure out why her shoulders close. HELP!
Okay so this year I am competing level 7 and for floor I have a few options for my tumble rows. Right now they are Handspring front and Round off flic layout unless I get some new skills.
Currently I am pretty close to getting my full twist and can land it upright on my feet on a mat in the pit...
IJ is crazy right now. We were working RO stop BHS and the kid just threw it connected. It is a good thing she ways nothing because I was not ready for a connected BHS. I love it when they are learning skills like crazy!
