My daughter is struggling with getting both arms to "pop" her onto her feet coming out of her round off. Basically one arm pushes and the other stays stuck to the ground. As a result she basically stands up and jumps as opposed to rebounding. She nearly has her BHS but of course because of the...
I was watching dd's slow motion video of her first L7 competition. And I noticed that she is still opening/bending her legs during her bhs series! Its not quite as obvious in real time, though I know the judges picked up on it because of her scoring. She does not do this when she is doing a...
So, long story short, I started practicing round off back tucks, my coach said it doesn't look like a back tuck at all, so i should start doing pikes, I can't pull up my pikes, so they end up being layouts. :D
So, now I'm training back layouts, but whatever the position is, I can't seem to get...
Is there something magic about turning 6? All of a sudden she is learning skill after skill after being pretty stagnant for about 6 months. She's gone from not even being able to do even a bad bhs on trampoline to doing a really good looking ro bhs on the regular floor in a month. The progress...
Hi
My daughter is struggling with her round off flick. I think the flick is a BHS in the US
She has a very nice round off and she had a decent standing flick back in spring. once competition season was over they spent pretty much the whole summer on conditioning and basics and starting to look...
My L4 (YAY!) is having trouble with her ROBHS. She has a decent one on the trampoline but her one on the floor is pretty bad. After an open gym she figured out her problem is she doesn't move her arm from her round off position to her bhs position fast enough having her hand to the side causing...
At our gym we have a gymnast who has recently lost her round-off bhs. She can still do a round-off correctly and has a beautiful standing bhs but won't connect the skills.
Recently she has been scheduling private lessons with me and I am stuck. I have tried everything that I can think of...
My little one is all over her RO BHS, hitting it well enough to be working on form corrections already. She nailed her font hip circle on her first try and keeps hitting it. I was honestly nervous to see if she would be able to transition from Level 3 to Level 4 by fall. It looks like it will...
OK friends - dont really know were to turn too. My DD of 10 is a level 6 gymnast, see has been doing gymnastics for over 6 years. This spring right before her second sectionals see lost her roundoff backhandspring back tuck. She still has not been able to get over the mental hurdle to get it...
Just wondering if anybody has any ideas or drills that help me with the following problem. One of my gg's seems to be twisting in the middle of her backhandspring! her roundoff is straight, going into the flip is straight, and then twisting hips in the air which brings her down crooked. I have...
HI EVERYONE!
I'm bigger than myself right now! Seriously!
Today I did my first roundoff bhs all alone! I had done it before but it was so awful that I didn't even consider it a BHS. But today was awesome, I was so confident!... Okay, anyway...
Since I already have my RO BHS, I'm pretty sure my...
sorry - but in my defence I don't think I've posted a brag yet!
My daughter is primarily a floor and vault gymnast, who trains four piece. She was offered a squad place from the rec class at the age of 10, we were told she would get to advanced level at floor and vault in a couple of years (the...
I just got my roundoff back handspring but for some reason I can't get my chest up and end up crashing on my knees or thudding onto my feet with my hands still on the ground. Also, I tend to go way crooked in my bhs even though my roundoff is straight. Does anyone have tips to fix these problems??

Hey everyone,
I recently got moved onto team gymnastics, level 4. We've been working on roundoff bhs, but I don't have it yet, so I'm just working on round offs. But they're majorly screwed up. (Sorry, currently can't post a video)
When I land the skill, my chest is parallel to the floor, when...
I've been doing round off tuck backs off an air floor onto a covered pit and had been landing the first few reasonably well, but last week I over rotated all the time and I can't work out why. Should I be slowing the rotation down or 'kicking out' of the somersault to land??
