My daughter will never be an elite, but I enjoy watching the elite competitions and am trying to understand the difficulty score.
How much harder is it to go from a difficulty of , say, 5.2 - 5.4 in terms that a level 8 mom can understand? Is it like going from a level 4 to level 5 in JO? Or is...
Okay, is anyone else completely frustrated by the changes which were made to the BTS app? Are we seriously supposed to individually add every gymnast before every meet that we attend, in order to see their scores?! It is terribly cumbersome, and I honestly do not see myself using the app anymore...
I've seen lots of discussions here on meet tracking apps, but is there any way to import scores from mymeetscores or MSO? Looking for a way to cut down on data entry from previous meets...
This is more a question for meet directors.... But if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be most appreciated. I cannot find the info anywhere.
To upload results to mymeetscores.com, what format do the scores need to be? Are there options for the format that will work? It seems...
I was looking for info on what the bonuses in men's Gymnatics are worth and came across an article (posted below) about women's college gymnastics. The article says that for college athletes a 9.7 is only OK, a 9.8 is average and you need a 9.9 or 10 to have a "great score". Is this true...
I know I shouldn't focus on scores however, it baffles the heck out of me. This is DDs first competitive season on level 1 so I really need to chill, I know. But after today's meet I'm so lost. She did great. Her beam was beautiful and she got a 9.30. The girl after her wobbled and almost fell...
So latest meet. Under the weather...still with the flu but she got out there....and floor was lovely....I didn't get all the scores on video but thought they were a bit strict. Scores were fair across the meet...if you have any thoughts that would be great, if not...enjoy...
MOM
Can someone explain to me what scoring out is? I hear it used all the time and have seen some posts referencing it but I am not really sure what that means? I assumed the first time I heard it used that it meant that a gymnast scored high enough in sanctioned meets cumulatively over the season...
i'm watching the world's right now and i'd love if someone could explain scoring at that level to me. or, direct me to a place that would explain it to me.
thanks!
This might sound crazy but I'm looking for some videos of the new level 5 bar routine that do not score very well. Due to a crazy mom and a long, drawn out, stressful move up decision I have a girl in my group who doesn't really have any of her level 5 skills. No flyaway, a clearhip that is...
I have heard some mentions here on CB about how some states tend to score tougher than others.
Is that true?
Where are the higher scores seemingly harder to get and where is the judging maybe more lax?
My DD is about to start her competitive season as a new level 5. She did well last year, but other parents at the gym are telling me to expect lower scores this year because they believe that the scoring at level 5 is much more stringent than that of level 4. I am a bit nervous because the coach...
Dd was in Xcel as of last season and will now be on the JO side of the house. I really didn't know what Xcel was and kinda had to learn along the way (we came from R5 and dd's old gym doesn't do Xcel). She competed Silver this season. And I found out Wednesday that she'll be scoring out of 4...
watching the NCAA Championship online. Having seen many college meets, I know there a difference in deductions given in NCAA vs level 10. In general, what are they?
Also wondering if there is a general guideline. Can an incoming college gymnast expect to increase her L10 score by a certain...
In light of a similarly-titled thread (as well as other random references to "skipping" levels), can someone please clarify for me what exactly can be skipped?
I thought you had to score out of all levels beginning at 4.
But, the other thread said someone can just qualify for Elite without...
I was following some gymnasts in the National Novice category at Gymnix and noticed for some athletes on their first event score would be lest say 12.7 but under all around with was noted at 14.2. Then I was looking at the ranks and they have gymnasts listed with a higher rank on a event i.e...
