So I have been on this website for a while now, and it seems that a big chunk of people are gymnasts/coaches/parents/judges in USAG. Where I am from, there were a few gyms, but none of them offered USAG. Instead the club gyms were a system that followed high school rules but allowed 10 kids per...
For mobility, I've seen AA score minimums that must be met but since an event specialist can't meet those, what is the rule for them in terms of moving up to the next level?
What is the USAG rule for when a kid starts competing? If I have a second year level 8 that moves from our AAU & non sanctioned gym to a USA gym, is the athlete made to start in compulsories? Or can they petition into their current level?
And if they are made to start in compulsories, can they...
Hey!
I am from Finland but now I live in the US. Next week, my cousin will come to the US as an exchange student and she wants to join a gymnastics class here. The only problem is, that we don't really know what Level she would be in in the USAG System, how many hours per week she could train...
Hello,
Sad situation at our gym has led me to ask if there is an injury protocol from USAG or if other gyms have one. It was late Friday night and one little girl took a freak accidental fall on a simple skill where she hit her face on the beam. She had a bloody nose and was dizzy, but ice...
Hello, I understand they (judges) are looking for precision and tightness. Maybe they are looking for what they see in the Olympics, but I want to understand why when you look at a gymnast doing a routine that looks very good yet, gets a low score.
Are they looking for complicated movements...
Has anyone received the schedule yet for Level 4 States in NJ? In years past they are always posted online but that website doesn't appear to be maintained any longer (not within the past few months anyway).
If anyone has heard anything can you please share? The suspense of not knowing is...
Hi all. Previously I had posted to get advice about DD moving from rec gym to pre team at 5 yo. She has really been enjoying her new class and has gained new strengths and skills!
After returning from winter break and talking with one of her coaches I was informed that the plan for DD was to...
Our gym competes only AAU at the compulsory levels and then offers the opportunity to go USAG at the optional level for those who want/are able to go that route. Most of our large, very "successful" optional gymnasts come up "in-house" through our compulsory levels. Recently we've had several...
MAG Coaches, gymnasts, and parents,
In mid-November, 2013 Ganba Gymnastics and USA Gymnastics finalized vetting of - and a licensing agreement for, sales and distribution of the Illustrated Guides. This is a project that I have been working on since shortly before the 2012 Summer Olympics. The...
Hi,
So I got two questions.
I am not from the US, I come from Austria and we have very very very poor possibilities to train gymnastics here. We only have 2 gyms in the whole country that have uneven bars and the 2 best gymnasts of Austria + are probably a Level 9 USAG!
My little sister who...
Hi Everybody,
I'm new to CB and I'm so glad to have all of you as such an amazing resource for gymnastics. My dd is 8 and just completed her first season as a new level 3 (old level 4), but I noticed that some of her gymmies that just finished competing level 5 during the compulsary season here...
Ok so we are going to the meet in Florida in January. The coaches are talking to the girls about the appropriate levels and it is I different from what we are used to. So they think my dd will have to go level 8 because of bars. Here are her routines...
Bear with me, she told me this and I...
I'm currently weighing the pros and cons of Professional vs. Instructor membership and thought some of the coaches here could offer some feedback. I mainly coach a high school team, so not USAG sanctioned, but also spend time helping out at a USAG club team, though am not the traveling team...
Alright, I've tried searching the forums and apparently am not searching the right words.
I know at one point a document or website was posted with the number of gymnasts in each level up to elite.
Can someone repost or direct me to this?
Thanks!
We got our team's schedule for the upcoming season and it shows on there a level 7/8 regionals. Anyone else's region having the 7's included this year? We are new to optionals, but I have not been aware of this being a typical level for regionals.
I can't remember where this thread was before. Someone wanted to see the routine. My kids are working on it. I have a left and right routine on my Youtube.
This is the rightie:
And this is the leftie:
Hope it helps!!
