Anyways, go here for Xcel rules:

Basically Xcel/Prep-Op is an alternative program to competing in the Junior Olympic program (think L2-8/9).

You can create your own routines from the very first level though there are requirements per level.

Many gyms use Xcel/Prep-Op as a program that the recreational program goes toward. Some use it as an alternative to JO, especially if a gymnast is in between levels. Some Xcel groups train just as much as JO whereas most tend to train more than rec but not as much as team.

As well, Xcel meet seasons tend to be cheaper than JO. Fewer meets typically.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
