The girls had their first meet today; it was so much fun :-)
I would definitely say that the judges are scoring tougher on the new routines, as I saw in an earlier thread. The scores for our girls were lower than last year, overall, yet we placed higher as a team. Lots of 8s, where we saw more 9s, at the same meet last year.

WHOOHOO the new season has begun :). Congrats to dd and her team. Its going to be interesting this year to see how judging goes.
 
Excited for you that meet season has begun!

We are still 2 months away but there is an extra crackle of energy @ practices as it approaches.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
