Looking for some recommendations for new travel meets for our Optional Team -Both boys and girls.

We have been to many over the years..Chicago, Cancun, FlipFest, Several Orlando's, Colorado Springs, Arizona, MetroPlex, Atlanta. Any other meets that have full sessions of 7,8,9 and 10's that are fun for the girls and parents?

Our team goes to this meet...it's really a lot of fun, I thought it was run much better this year than last year. I'm not sure how many level 10s there are, as our team only went up to level 9 this past year, but there were lots of level 9s at the meet. I would definitely recommend this meet :)

We've done the Ocean State Classic the past few years and everyone seems to like it....mostly because it has stadium like seating...soft chairs and in a hotel/banquet room. Sure beats a gym! The girls also loved that they had crowns for first place (I thought that was a bit odd, though!!) We also do TDNI (Daggetts) and it also has boys/girls. I enjoyed that as they competed at the same time (2 diff gym sides) and it was the first time I saw boys compete. Neither of these are true 'travel' meets for us as we are in the area! At our gym, the true travel meets are optional and at this point, we've opted out for a variety of reasons. Mostly money!!

We liked the Buckeye Classic in Columbus Ohio and Circle of Stars in Indianapolis, Indiana - Circle of Stars was especially nice for families because there was no admission costs. I'm not sure what they offer for boys though.

I second Circle of Stars in Indiana. I believe they have decent boys sessions, but you'd have to double check that.

Not sure how big you're looking for, but Twin City Twisters "Northern Lights" meet was good and the Event Finals were something that most of the kids weren't familiar with and found exciting. Also the Harley Meet is also a fun meet in Milwaukee. Not HUGE, but enjoyable. I know they have boys, but not sure on the extent of that.

We did TDNI and I liked it too - DD was very comfortable there as that is where she has gone for summer gym camp for the past 7 years so it was like a home court advantage. Got her first 9.5 on floor there. The only issue I had was seating. Folding chairs but you couldn't see very well all the events. as the set up seemed strange to me.

Its a little over 2 hours for us to get there if we were to go but if you are from CA it could be a big travel meet. I hope our gym does this one this year. They though about it and opted for another meet - not sure which we ended up at instead.

Our optionals went to the Alamo classic this year. It seemed like everyone had a great time and they also have the event finals like the northern lights meet. This was very exciting and even got coverage on gymnastike.

The Cincinnati Coaches Spectacular is always a bunch of fun!
Lots of girls at all levels, esp. optional.
This is not a travel meet for us, but for quite a bit of the attendees it is.

Aloha Gymfest in Hawaii. They have teams from the US, Japan, Australia and New Zealand usually.

Well I certainly would love that one but a 12 hour plane ride is along time on a plane with a team of girls.

I have been to the San diego classsic hosted by poway gymnastics. it is a good meet with boys and girls at all optional levels. it is in a huge banquet room so there is 3 sessions going at once.normally at least one girls and a boys session (the room is divided into 3 parts).
the only problems we have had is it getting a little crowded, it is kind of hard to hear the floor music, and we had trouble with a parent who went to her daughters session level 10, my session level 7, and my teammates session to watch someone else level 8. I cant remember if it was over all 3 of the days or just 2 but every session that she went to she had to pay addmission again. there was no full weekend pass or anything like that which we found really odd. so in all she spent around $65 for her 3 sessions then her son to watch 2 of them
another good meet is california classic. i dont think there are any boys though. But i think the boys part was hosted from the same gym 1 week before. and they had another meet in that area the same weekend we had the CA classic. It is a very well ran meet. there is stadium seating and the chairs had backs at the venue they were at this year. it was in a college basketball gym but it wasnt all stuffy and stuff. I dont have any complaints and neither did my mom but overall it was a great well run meet. also there are gyms from all over the u.s and even one from Japan

Our gym from southeast Idaho goes to Lady Luck in Las Vega. DD8 hasn't been, but hope to this year, it is a very large even apparently. There is also the Great West Gym Fest in Cour d'laine ( I know that is spelled wrong!) that is lots of fun with an "big show" event final set up. This one is also a very large event for the Nortwest.
