How can I improve my handstand backhandspring for beam? I have a pretty solid backhandspring on beam. In my handstand backhandspring on floor I go back instead of up and I come down kinda hard on my hands. Usually, my hands don't make it on the line.

The BHS on beam needs to be higher and shorter than it is on floor. Work the handstand into BHS up hill onto a box or mat to help get the height.

Lean forward on your take off to the BHS to create more undercut. This would be incorrect for floor, but beam is a whole different ball game.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
