Women Help! How to clean velcro

Does anyone have a tool or idea of how to clean the velcro that sticks to carpet bonded foam? Sometimes hair and lint will stick to the velcro and it makes it difficult for the mat to actually stay-put on the floor.

It's a PITA and takes forever but it works!

I use a wire bristle dog brush, works great

A large comb or hairbrush with flexible bristles might do the job?

For best results, try loosening up whatever's stuck in there with another piece of velcro (smoosh it on, rip it off). This might help dislodge it, and make the removal process faster.
