Hey guys,
Im currently trying to learn honma on pbars but the moment i start to flip my upper body to my legs my hip/legs stop rotate so i landd on my upper arms. In comparison to ppl who actually do honma my height should be enough. Any tips, tricks or drills on this one? I have no coach so I do not really know what technique i have to use/pay attention to.

Thanks guys!!

I'm a girls' coach who never learned honma or coached one- so take with a grain of salt:

need more height= must generate power somewhere. Power can be generated through shape change, and the more drastic the better- so... from the deep pike in upperarm, 'unfold' from pike and stretch out as far as you can manage, and keep stretching through the swing until you reach the tight arch?

It's basically just a swing front flip, right? so swinging better (better = tighter and longer with more power applied at the start) seems to be the key to me. Then if your swing is good enough and you're timing it well, all that is left is the awareness to catch it in support.

If your hips/legs are 'stopping' rotation, that makes me think you are piking early... like rushing the flip. My solution would be wait for the tight arch- 'complete' the heel drive before you pike it.

Good luck! If others want to chime in with more concrete thoughts- a video would help.
