My Freshman daughter who is XP has been competing with her highschool team this year. I understand that the IHSA girls gymnastic season and the USAG Illinois Season run concurrently and there a means by which a IHSA gymnastic can compete in a USAG meet during the same overlapping season.

But what i'm curious about is did your daughters HS team coaches say anything about this at either a student or a parent meeting? We received zero information on the process for petition to compete in a USAG meet from the HS coach. I'm wondering if there is some taboo here that I'm not aware of? or if girls just complete USAG without going through proper channels, ie under the radar?

Just wondering if by requesting how to do this I committed some type of unknown faux pas....

Is she competing/training platinum through a club team? I'm in Washington, but we had tons of girls compete for their high school and our club simultaneously. We just registered them for the meets as normal with our club and then they competed for their high school at the high school meets.

That's nice that you can do that. But the Illinois High School Association (IHSA) does not allow an athlete to participate in both on a club a team and high school team simultaneously (for practice OR competitions) for any sport without a special, event specific, petition. I'm curious as to the experience of people in Illinois specifically.

I see, I think you missed a word in your original post so I was confused about your question.
