Start with needle kicks on the leg they're going to turn on. Then when the needle kick is good, you should start turning towards the outside - I do an illusion on my right leg, so I turn towards my left shoulder. I put my right hand on the ground when I do it, but eventually you can learn to do it with no hands if you're flexible enough. It's a lot of trial-and-error to get the timing and balance right.

Can you watch bgtv? (on the British gymnastics homepage)

There was an excellent video on illusion turns on there if you can!

ooooooohhh - heads off to check it out (whilst watching strictly)

Lane Jarred does that skill and I believe she has info about it on her website. Gymnastike also has an interview with her where she talks about it. She actually does it ending in a scale. She does it on beam and floor. Just google her name.

Vertical splits initially and try and hold the vertical split and walk your hands round, when you get to 1/4 of the way try and turn to stand.
someone holding your hand and guiding you through the motion on your back
- couple of things dd mentioned
definitely with touching a hand on the ground initially, then losing the hand
