Her routine was 1:31 long, so 0.1 was deducted. I really wanted to see her in the FX finals, but at least she'll have the chance to defend her vault World title.

She did not qualify because only 2 people from each country can go to any one event final. Simone Biles got a higher score. McKayla tied with Kyla Ross but Kyla won the tiebreaker because her execution score was higher. McKayla got an overtime deduction which should never have happened.
