I am shelling pistacios for DD's breakfast. She'll eat it in the car on the way to the meet with one of her friends, and I'll come along a bit later.
The state meet is more than a month off. It runs from a Friday to a Sunday. Coach says they are going to do half age divisions (younger 6, older 6). DD's half birthday is the Saturday of the meet. So she'll either catch a great break ... or totally won't.
Of course, doing better rank-wise in a younger 6 age division Level 2 AAU will buy her a packet of ketchup at Chick-fil-A. She'll have more fun in the 6.5's since she'll be able to sit with her other 6yo teammate.
Fond memories of summer swim meet mornings flooding in ... I love summer.
