Hi! My DD competed L6 last year, and would like to transition to Xcel this year. Xcel is relatively new at her gym, and I was wondering how that transition works. Does she have to do some sort of score out meet? Or can she just do her first meet at the Xcel level that matches the skills she has (most likely Platinum)?

Thanks!

No scores out needed if they are coming from JO. There are requirements for where JO athletes must enter Xcel, having competed level 6 your daughter would need to go directly to Platinum. If for some reason her coaches would want to put her at a lower level they would need to petition.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
