Let's be clear here -- while some of the alleged victims are under 13, many/most are not. These are young women who know exactly what happened to them and can likely articulate it much better than a younger child being "led" through an interview.

Just by the sheer volume of accusers and the varied geographic locations (from IN to MI to TX and CA) and time frames, there is no doubt in my mind he is guilty. How guilty is up to the courts to decide, but this is not a case of a kid being confused by what happened. He assaulted multiple girls over 3 decades. He deserves to be in jail for the rest of his life.

I'm not playing judge and jury -- any reasonable person could surmise that the 50+ accusers are not conspiring to railroad him. He did this...now we'll let things run their course through the court system and the chips will fall where they may.

New civil lawsuit filed against him by a gymnast this afternoon in Ingham County, MI.

Victim in the criminal charges filed against him today we're a non-gymnast, and I believe non-patient.

Do you feel like your dd was the victim of his abuse by his treatment of her? If so, I am very sorry. Hopefully you can get her the help she needs to move past this.

If you are referring to just being disgusted at the thought of his hands on her in hindsight but he treated your dd appropriately, like what you would expect from a trusted dr (no abuse), then talk with her about it. Most drs are not abusive and even the ones who are, are abusive to only a small number of their patients. But since we don't know the circumstances in which a patient might become a victim, it is important to protect oneself every time - always have a woman in the exam room, if you feel uncomfortable then stop the exam or treatment, if you get bad vibes from a person walk away. People don't trust their instincts enough, especially with drs. It is important particularly for our teens, who are often on their own, to walk away from situations that make them uncomfortable about their personal safety.
No I was there the whole time. Nothing inappropriate happened. He has been recommended forever. The parent who recommended him to us feels bad. My DD feels bad. She doesn't want to believe it because she liked and trusted him. So I guess it's more something we have to talk more in depth about. Trusting yourself if something does not seem right etc. As someone in medicine who has seen a false accusation cause significant damage. I am willing to watch and wait to pass judgement, however the evidence in this case seems insurmountable. We may never know the extent of damage. I also worry about his involvement with children with autism. It also affects the other Drs in that practice It is a big practice who will want to take their children to that Sports Medicine office even if guilty only by association. So many levels of damage.
