I heard that they changed the release move requirements to be 1 high bar and 1 transitional bar release. So the standard bail/Chinese sit up doesn't cut it. Has anyone heard about this?

The minimum to fill the special requirements is still a "B" release and a "C release."

However, the unofficial guideline for judges is to apply some part of the "up to 0.20 for releases not up to competitive level" composition deduction for anything less than 2 'D' releases. So a routine with a bail and a Chinese sit up might get 0.10 in composition, since other Level 10s might have a Shaposh (D), a high bar release (D), and the low to high bar transition.

Before this season, gymnasts should have taken .1 composition for not having a single-rail release. The expectation now is that routines without two D releases will take .2 composition. A shaposh/shootover hand routine will meet this DD composition requirement, but a shootover hand/uphill will not.

Level 10 bars also now has a two 1/2 turn pirouette composition requirement and the dismount needs to be compositionally upgraded above giant/double tuck.

These composition requirements mimic NCAA requirements, but NCAA requirements remain higher. For instance, a gymnast in NCAA that competes two Es on the bars (not dismount) need not have a connection to meet all of her requirements.
