Performing better for coaches?

I'm a gymnast, and I'm wondering if any other gymnasts perform better when a different coach is watching? At practice, I seem to do better with the HC watching. However...
When I'm being spotted, I'm better with anyone but the HC because I know my HC will catch me if I fall, and the others I don't trust as much.
In summary, I know my HC will catch me if I fall.

DD is a 9+ with a coach watching and a 7.5 without. She wouldn't admit it, though.

I notice my daughter definitely tries really hard when certain coaches are around. She just switched gyms recently and is having problems on vault so when her normal vault coach was coaching beam one of her first days there I could tell she was really trying to impress him! LOL!! Where she normally likes to be spotted a couple times on her BHS on beam she was just doing it.
